Photo Organizer
Sorts phone, camera and messenger photos into folders by the date they were taken, converts HEIC to JPG and filters out duplicates. Works offline (except the update check, which can be turned off) and has undo.
Windows program · MIT · v0.1.2 · Updated 2026-10-14
For Windows. The file is unsigned, so if "Windows protected your PC" appears the first time, choose "More info → Run anyway".
Chaekgalpi Tools are made by the person who runs Chaekgalpi Library, a Korean-language web service for keeping a reading log. About Chaekgalpi Library (Korean) →
How to use
- Download photo-organizer.exe and run it (no install).
- Drop a photo folder onto the window. Check the date, its source and the new path in the table. For a photo with a wrong date, double-click the date cell to fix it (only the folder changes; the EXIF data stays as it is).
- Press "Run". If you change your mind, "Undo" puts back every moved file, converted JPG and removed empty folder.
Features
- The date is taken from EXIF, then video metadata, then the file name (KakaoTalk, Samsung, Google Photos, WhatsApp, screenshots, Band, Line), then a paired file, and the "source" column shows where it came from.
- Live Photo .mov/.aae files and RAW originals travel with their photo.
- HEIC to JPG conversion keeps the EXIF data, orientation and colour profile and never deletes the original. There is a "convert HEIC only" mode.
- Files with identical content are kept once and the rest go to a
_Duplicatesfolder (never deleted). Similar-photo detection is a separate switch. - Nothing changes before you press Run, and a log is written before any file moves. Running again marks files already in place as "no change".
What it does not do
- It does not edit photos (no cropping, no colour fixes).
- No face or place recognition and no sorting by person.
- It does not connect to any cloud (Google Photos, iCloud, OneDrive); "online-only" files are skipped unopened.
- It does not change EXIF and never deletes a file straight away.
Since v0.1.3, the program sends only its name and version to the Chaekgalpi server when it starts, to check whether a newer version exists. No file is sent, it asks once a day, and you can turn it off in the settings.
