Music Tag Filler
Fills in the title, artist, album and cover-art tags of your music files automatically. Identifies tracks by audio fingerprint and, if you want, adds lyrics too.
Windows program · MIT · v0.2.2 · Updated 2026-10-14
For Windows. The file is unsigned, so if "Windows protected your PC" appears the first time, choose "More info → Run anyway".
Chaekgalpi Tools are made by the person who runs Chaekgalpi Library, a Korean-language web service for keeping a reading log. About Chaekgalpi Library (Korean) →
How to use
- Download the program and run it (no install).
- Drop music files or a folder. Each track is identified and a title, artist, album and cover are suggested.
- Nothing is written until you check the result and press "Save".
Lyrics (since v0.2.0)
- Turn on "Fill lyrics too" in the options row and lyrics are added on save to files that have none. Off by default.
- Lyrics come from LRCLIB (lrclib.net); only the title, artist and duration are sent.
- To avoid wrong lyrics, they are only written when the artist, version (instrumental, TV size) and duration (within 3 seconds) all match and the uploaded lyrics agree with each other. Old or little-known tracks are therefore often not found.
- Lyrics are copyrighted. Use this for your own collection only and do not share files that contain lyrics.
What it does not do
- Your music files are never uploaded anywhere. Only the search query and the audio fingerprint (a string of numbers) are sent.
- Lyrics are fetched only when the option is on, existing lyrics are never changed, and no .lrc files are created.
- No downloading, converting or playing music.
- No scraping of services without an official API.
Since v0.2.1, the program sends only its name and version to the Chaekgalpi server when it starts, to check whether a newer version exists. No file is sent, it asks once a day, and you can turn it off in the settings.
Other tools in this group
- Music Folder Organizer — Sorts scattered music files into artist and album folders and finds duplicate tracks. Works without an internet connection (except the update check, which can be turned off).
