Ebook Renamer
Reads the title and author inside the EPUB and PDF files in a folder and renames them all to "Author - Title" in one go. Check the preview first; undo stays available afterwards.

How to use
- Download ebook-renamer.exe and run it (no install).
- Drop a folder or EPUB/PDF files onto the window and check the new names in the table. Change the naming rule (
{author} - {title},{title} - {author},{title}or your own), untick files to skip them, or double-click a new name to edit it by hand. - Press "Rename". Only the names change; the files stay where they are. "Undo" restores every original name.
Features
- Files with neither title nor author are shown in grey and skipped by default.
- When new names collide, the second one onwards gets (2), (3) and is marked "duplicate".
- With several authors only the first is used; an option appends "et al."
- Characters not allowed in file names are dropped, surrounding and repeated spaces are tidied, and names stay within 200 characters.
What it does not do
- It does not edit or fill in metadata. Read only.
- It does not look up book information on the internet.
- It does not move files to other folders or create folders. Names only.
- It does not detect duplicate books. Files other than EPUB and PDF are skipped.
Since v0.2.2, the program sends only its name and version to the Chaekgalpi server when it starts, to check whether a newer version exists. No file is sent, it asks once a day, and you can turn it off in the settings.
